During the summer of 2012, the Holy Redeemer field will be closed down as it goes through a period of maintenance and repair. The HRAA has hired a landscaping company to first aerate the field and then “plug” the field with sprigs of bermuda grass. The plan is to develop a field with the proper mix of “cool season” and “warm season” grasses, so that the field can maintain its integrity through the vigorous demands it gets throughout the year.
As you can see from the pictures below the project was a huge success. The new field supports HRAA athletics and the students of the day school year round. The HRAA has made a life long commitment to the parish to provide maintenance for the field, including seeding, fertilizing, aeration and grooming.
